Beyond Balderdash

Tonight was game night (very enjoyable)

The basics of the game - you’re presented with a word, date, movie, person or initials and have to figure out what it means or why it’s important. The person who’s turn it is reads the item.. and then writes the definition on their own card.. everyone else writes a definition/description on their cards - trying to sound realistic. Once collected, the person who did the reading of the initial card reads all of the cards collected in random order. The players then guess which the “real” definition is. The real definition is worth 2 points to whoever gets it; meanwhile you get 1 point for each person you trick into voting for your definition.

So, here’s the items and descriptions I came up with:

December 22, 1987
Michael Jackson’s hair caught on fire while shooting a Pepsi commercial.

Six Lessons from Madam La Zonga
A documentry about eating healthy while travelling to Africa.

Scuppernong
The term for the eye-bolt used in the model 5A John Deer tractor assembly.

Jan 4th, 1957
The date “Birdseye Foods” introduced their frozen vegetables to grocers

Hagbut
Slang term from England in the early 60s for homeless women

Edwin Budding
Second person to ever swim across the English channel

They sound a bit convincing, don’t they? ;)
