Surprises.. last Wed (day before thanksgiving).. for those who don’t know the story, here it is:
About 3pm we were being lazy and considering sitting in and watching videos that night and ordering in pizza.. idea came to me.. check out DisneyLand’s hours and traffic, knew she wanted to go there.. so we headed off “somewhere” (she said she liked surprises, so hey, why not…) .. as we finally make it near Anaheim, she decides she really wants to know… so I mention Disney.. and that was one heck of a surprise.. she’s been dying to go there.. so that would have been a great night to just wander Disney, take in a few attractions.. but.. after a few rides, we came out just in time for the fireworks. As the fireworks sparkled above… I brought out the ring and proposed with a sparkle of my own.. and she said yes… (no we don’t know a date, it’ll take a while for immagration etc, so it’ll be a long engagement)
:D

How’d I found you? I was searching for the Chattadicts page and forgot the address, so searched for Wagahai and found your ‘corner’.
I hate reading Blogs, I always feel I’m snooping, but I read anyway.
Your post actually brought a lump to my throat and a litle tear to my eye (only a little one you understand *cough, cough* in a manly way).
I met my wife in the US (she’s from the UK though like me), we were both travelling ‘around the world’, we spent 9-months travelling together around the US, but then she had to head home. I carried on through Australia and Asia for another 9-months, but my heart just wasn’t in it anymore, needed to get home.
We’ve been together since 1990 and went back to where we met (Key West) to get married in 1995. Since then, we moved to the Great White North and had a baby boy. The story continues.
I really wish you all the best, such a great story. Being with someone over such distances can be a bind, but worth it. When we did it, we didn’t have e-mail, it was all snail mail and PO boxes, or expensive international payphone calls. Your story brought back great memories for me.
Steve (or PG or Partington or whatever)
